Think IT is an innovative IT recruitment company specialising in the sourcing of high calibre Software Development and Change & Transformation IT staff. We’re a successful challenger brand in the IT recruitment sector with ambitious growth plans. An essential part of our expansion strategy is to find a constant stream of talented individuals with the right skill-set to join our highly motivated team of recruitment consultants. Eva McEndoo has joined us to manage our internal recruitment drive.

So Eva, tell us about your recruitment expertise, what you’re looking to achieve, and how your plans are taking shape?

Having spent 10yrs working at a senior manager level for a City of London based specialist recruiter working on high volume accounts, then taking a break to start a family, I set about looking for a challenging opportunity closer to home when I found this newly created position at Think IT Recruitment. On paper it sounded like just what I had in mind, and that’s proven to be the case. It’s great I’ve joined the company at a time of rapid growth and to have the opportunity to shape its future.

Think IT is going places, and it’s my job to find the new trainee recruits and turn them into the consultants of tomorrow. We have already put in place a comprehensive 12-week training programme that all the new recruits will go through, it covers the basics of Sales, Recruitment and the legislation that governs our industry sector, and teaches our new recruits how we do things here. There’s also ‘on-the-job’ training readily available from our experienced consultants who are willing to share their knowledge and experience – so there’s always plenty of support on-hand to help the trainees develop their new skills quickly. We also have a clearly defined career path and structure – so everyone knows it’s down to them to excel and reach their full potential. It’s been a very busy couple of months!

Recruitment is a ‘people business’, so I’m seeking to recruit trainees who possess good people skills – the ability to listen and understand what our customers want and need – both employers and candidates, these are essential qualities recruitment consultants must have to be successful in recruitment. Some previous sales experience is important, as is the passion and motivation to achieve results.

Like any sales job, it’s highly competitive, and there’s always pressure to ‘seal-the-deal’ and hit your target, but this creates the most amazing buzz and energy on the recruitment floor, and when you’re successful, everyone joins in celebrating your success. It’s a professional but relaxed environment with a fantastic team spirit and sense of fun – a unique ‘work hard, play hard’ culture that’s for sure. The challenge for me is to find good people and keep developing the company culture as we grow and grow.

The rewards for success are huge. Starting off as a trainee, it’s possible to earn up to £300,000 in just the first four years, and we have wonderful incentives for the high achievers along the way to keep motivation level high – like our Las Vegas Trip (that will be loads of fun), and our quarterly Lunch Club, where you can earn a place at our lunch table in top restaurants around European. We’ve also introduced a calendar of action-packed social events for the staff, these included Go-Karting evenings, Paint-Balling and a day at the races, and there’s plenty of other fun activities to enjoy.

If this sounds like the sort of place you’d like to work – maybe you should consider a career in IT recruitment? Introduce yourself and take a step closer to becoming part of our winning team.
